TODAY’S PATENT – WIPER EQUIPMENT

Wipers are used in automobiles so as to clean the windshield against water, dust, or for a clearer vision. They are manufactured in two different versions, namely left-hand, and right-hand versions. The manufacturing and storage of these 2 versions is a challenging and confusing task. Peter C. Pethers received his patent for the invention “Wiper equipment” (US4564971A), by the USPTO on 21st January 1986.

A new version of wiper was invented for which Nesson received a Patent (Pat. No. 2,528,283 issued Oct. 31, 1950). This invention had an adjustable tip that could be used as a left-hand or right-hand wiper. It also suffered the drawbacks of displacement by wear and inadvertent failure.

The present invention is designed to function as a left- or right-hand wiper that can be adjusted by turning the wiper blades accordingly and no other extra piece or assembly need to be attached. Additionally, the length and the angular curve of the wiper blades are readily adjustable to suit all varieties of automobiles.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an enhanced wiper arm that eliminates the necessity for manufacturing a right- and left-hand version. Additionally, the wiper can be readily converted to any of the versions.
