TODAY’S PATENT – REUSABLE FOLDABLE DRINKING STRAW IN STORAGE CASE
Although a drinking straw might not seem like a very creative idea but they can be an ingenious invention if certain elements are taken care of in making them. Miles Pepper did exactly this and introduced a novel design for a reusable drinking straw that offers both portability and convenience. The key innovation is a foldable structure that allows the straw to be compactly stored and easily transported in a provided storage case.
This innovative straw consists of an outer rigid tube and a flexible inner tubing, which can be folded into a compact form for storage without compromising its usability. When folded, the straw’s length is reduced significantly, often to just one-half or one-fourth of its extended length when in use. The outer tube is constructed using multiple rigid segments, which can be detached from each other and slid along the inner flexible tubing.
Published on 17-10-2019 with the patent no. US20190313820A1, it is currently assigned to Final Co LLC. Cleaning the straw after use is made simple with a cleaning device that includes a squeegee capable of passing through the inner tubing’s passageway.
To complete the innovation, a storage case is included to house the folded straw and the cleaning device. The storage case is equipped with separate compartments for both the straw and the cleaning device, ensuring that both components are neatly organized and easily accessible. Overall, this invention presents a practical solution for a reusable drinking straw that combines portability, usability, and ease of maintenance. Its foldable design, segmented outer tube, and integrated storage case contribute to making this straw a convenient and eco-friendly choice for those seeking an alternative to single-use plastic straws.
