TODAY’S PATENT – INSECT SENSING SYSTEM AND METHOD

The Insect sensing system and method was invented by Jianyi liu and Peter Massaro. This invention was granted patent by USPTO on 13th August 2019 bearing patent no. US10375947B2.  This patent has been assigned to Verily Life Sciences LLC.

TODAY'S PATENT - INSECT SENSING SYSTEM AND METHOD

To get rid of mosquitoes, sterile male insects will be made and released into the wild. The sensing system includes a light emitter that is designed to emit light, a structured light generator that is positioned to receive the light that is being emitted and is designed to generate structured light that has a shape, a plurality of light sensors that are arranged according to the shape, each of the light sensors being oriented to receive at least a portion of the structured light and output a sensor signal indicating an amount of light that was received by the respective light sensor, and a processing.
