TODAY’S PATENT – DETACHABLE MOTOR POWERED SURGICAL INSTRUMENT

The device is a detachable motor-powered surgical instrument. The device relates to endoscopic surgical instruments including, but not limited to, surgical cutting and stapling apparatuses that have disposable loading units that are capable of applying lines of staples to tissue while cutting the tissue between those staple lines. The instrument may include a housing that includes at least one engagement member for removably attaching the housing to an actuator arrangement.

TODAY'S PATENT - DETACHABLE MOTOR POWERED SURGICAL INSTRUMENT

A motor is supported within the housing for supplying actuation motions to various portions of a surgical end effector coupled to the housing. The surgical instrument was invented by Kyle P. Moore, Frederick E. Shelton and others. It has been patented by the USPTO on 4th July 2019 bearing the serial number US20190200993A1. The instrument can be described as a utility patent since it is an improved endoscopic surgical instrument.
