TODAY’S TRADEMARK – SKATEBOARD
This invention “Skateboard” was invented by John Piazza, Jr. was granted patent on 13th May, 1980 by the USPTO bearing patent grant number US4202559A to the patentee. The current invention pertains to skateboards and, more specifically, to an improved skateboard that can be controlled by the rider’s foot regardless of changes in the rider’s weight distribution.
The components of a skateboard include a rigid, long board with front and rear segments, front and rear wheel assemblies, and means for fixing the rear wheel assembly fixedly below the rear portion. A steering platform is offered, and means are fastened to the board’s front portion to connect the steering platform above it and the front wheel assembly below it for pivotal movement as a single unit with respect to the board. Preferably, the connection means extends through the vertically extending aperture that is defined in the board front section.
