TODAY’S PATENT -VEHICLE ZERO SPEED DETECTION SYSTEM
In today’s patent, we will discuss Richard S. Rhoton (Monroeville, PA)’s invention, “VEHICLE ZERO SPEED DETECTION SYSTEM” (US3958783A), which was patented by the USPTO on May 15, 1976.
The following invention is made in such a way that the vehicle senses its presence within the premises of vehicle stopping area. Here in the following invention there are signal transmitting means located along the vehicle stopping area for transmitting a signal which reverses phase at spaced increments along the vehicle stopping area. In the following invention signal receiving means on the vehicle sense the transmitted signal phase reversals at a rate determined by the rate of travel of the vehicle, and included are means for providing a control signal indicative of said vehicle having reached at least a selected speed when the received signal is received at a given rate.
