Today’s Patent – Ultrasound Probe with Integrated Needle Guidance System
The said invention (US12303321B2) was invented by Paul Adams, Christopher Vetter and patented by USPTO on July 16th, 2024. Currently, it stands assigned to the Dandelion Technologies LLC.

This invention provides a device and method for guided needle insertion using real-time ultrasound imaging. It includes an ultrasound probe housing with a guide channel and a rotatable needle guide assembly. The guide allows precise needle entry while staying within the ultrasound field of view. A rotation angle sensor measures needle angle, and a locking mechanism holds it in place. The assembly can rotate within a slotted or conical aperture and may be mechanically or electrically actuated.
The system generates 3D images and overlays suggested needle paths on a display, using real-time data and optional AI assistance. The user can follow or adjust these paths during insertion. A needle handle allows manual control, and components are designed for easy removal and cleaning. spectral efficiency and system capacity. The antennas and processing units may be interconnected to a centralized processor for coordination, enabling efficient and scalable wireless communication in dense, high-demand environments.
