Today’s Patent – Transmission Cooling System

The above-mentioned invention (US12313156B1) has been invented by Gale C. Banks III and patented by USPTO on October 25th, 2023. Currently, it stands assigned to inventor himself.

Today's Patent - Transmission Cooling System

This invention provides a vehicle transmission pan that improves cooling of transmission lubricant. It uses inner fins in contact with the lubricant and outer fins exposed to airflow under the vehicle. The fins are aligned to optimize heat transfer from the lubricant to the passing air. An air scoop channels airflow directly onto the outer fins for better cooling efficiency. Optional baffles with temperature control regulate airflow based on operating needs. Breakaway mounting of the scoop prevents damage from road impacts.

Unobstructed channels between inner fins allow smooth lubricant flow for consistent cooling. The objective is to enhance transmission cooling by aligning inner and outer fins with an airflow-directing scoop, ensuring efficient heat transfer, regulated airflow, damage protection, and smooth lubricant circulation.
