Today’s Patent – Tool Holder
The said invention (US11470951B1) was invented by Micah Heanssler and Nicholas Bonner and patented by USPTO on April 21th, 2022. Currently, it stands assigned to the Sherrill Inc.

The disclosed invention is a tool holder featuring a J-shaped body and a pivoting gate mechanism. The gate includes an arm that is pivotally connected to a finger at the top of the body, allowing it to move between three positions: a closed position where it spans the gap between the free ends of the body, an inside position where it pivots inward, and an outside position where it pivots outward. A biasing mechanism automatically returns the gate to the closed position. The gate also includes a barrel that either rotates or slides along the arm, depending on the configuration, to lock the gate in the closed position or allow it to move freely. An attachment mechanism is provided to secure the tool holder to flat webbing.
