TODAY’S PATENT – SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DE-PLUGGING ROTATING GROUND ENGAGING TOOLS OF AN AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT
Today’s patent was invented by James W. Henry on December 7, 2021, bearing patent no. US11191202B2.
The current disclosure primarily focuses on systems and methods for deplugging spinning ground-engaging tools of an agricultural implement by turning driving such tools when material accumulation is recognized. First and second ground engaging tools are positioned apart from one another in a system for unplugging rotating ground engaging components of an agricultural implement. When the first and second ground engaging tools are placed in a working position with respect to a field’s soil surface, the rotational actuator rotates the tools in order to drive them. This separation creates a flow gap between the tools. When it is determined that the tools are experiencing the plugged state, the controller is further set up to regulate the rotational actuator’s operation so that the tools are rotated while they are positioned in a working position in relation to a field’s soil surface.
