TODAY’S PATENT- SWADDLE BLANKET
Although infant blankets and coverings are not new, this swaddle blanket is unique in the sense that it tends to bring certain improvements in the existing designs. This Swaddle blanket has been invented by Joel Kaplan, Alvin Kaplan, Richard White, Deborah Ashworth, Jonathan Daugherty and was granted patent by USPTO on 5th June, 2012, bearing patent number US8191188B2.
The Swaddle blanket involves a top end and a bottom end with a pocket at the bottom to cover the legs of the baby. It consists of two attachment straps secured to a rear position each including a mating pair fastener. The Blanket consists of a first side and a second side each covering the infant on first and second directions respectively. A fastener is attached to the second side which is used to keep the infant secure by placing the second wrap over the first.
The invention aims at making infant’s sleep warm and comfortable keeping in mind its movements. The object of this invention is to allow balanced movements such that there are no suffocation hazards but it is safe at the same time.
