TODAY’S PATENT – SCREEN PROTECTOR APPLICATOR
This was invented by Reynaldo V. Alonzo (Fresno, CA), and Nina Seyedabadi (Fresno, CA). It was patented by the USPTO on March 18, 2014 bearing patent number US8675353B1. The present invention relates to a tool for easily applying screen protectors to portable electronic devices.
A screen protector applicator consists of a cradle with an open top that communicates with an interior chamber, multiple upstanding outer walls, and a bottom surface. The internal chamber has dimensions and is set up to fit snuggly around an adhesive screen protector and a compatible portable electronic device, like a wireless phone.
When the protector is placed correctly within the cradle, it has an earpiece slit next to the top edge and a control button aperture near the lower edge that, when positioned, receive a protrusion and a mound on the bottom surface of the cradle, respectively. In order to bond the electronic device to the anchored protection, a protective layer covering the adhesive is removed, and the gadget is placed face-down on the protector.
The goal of the current invention is to develop a tool that makes it simple and quick for a user to install a protective film on a portable electronic device. The current invention further aims to provide a tool that allows a linked electronic device and a protective film to be kept in alignment for adhesive joining. The ability to create a screen protector applicator that swiftly transforms into a portable electronic device protective case is another goal of the current innovation.
