TODAY’S PATENT – PORTABLE COMPUTER HAVING A RADIO FUNCTION

A portable computer has a radio function was invented by Jong-Il Cho and was later assigned to Hanger Solutions LLC for commercial production which was granted patent on 6^th February 2001 bearing the patent grant number. US6185690B1.

A portable computer includes a radio set and a switch for selecting main power for the entire system or radio power for the radio set, a micro-controller for outputting a power supply selecting signal and a sound source selecting signal based on the operational state of the switch unit, and a power branching unit for branching and outputting power into main power to operate the portable computer or radio power to play the radio. An additional component of the current invention is a switch for changing the sound source. In order to change a speech signal output from the sound source choosing unit, the sound source alteration switch, which is attached to it, outputs a sound source modifying signal.
