TODAY’S PATENT – MICRO FLUIDIC CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLY

Today’s patent was invented by Donald E. Ingber, Daniel Levner, Guy Thompson II, and Christopher David Hinojosa on January 2, 2018, bearing patent no. US9855554.

This invention is cartridge assembly for transferring fluid into or out of one or more fluidic devices. It consists of two layers and the first surface is part of the first layer. At least one incomplete channel is present on the first surface. Then at least one partial channel is turned into a channel when the second layer touches the first surface. A robust layer made of a malleable substance makes up at least one of the first and second layers. A via hole can be found in at least one of the first and second layers. The channel and via hole are lined up so that fluid can flow there.
