TODAY’S PATENT – METHOD FOR HANDLING OF CHEESE BLOCKS

The Method for handling of cheese blocks was invented by Siegfried GRÜNINGER and is been patented by USPTO on 29th September 2020 bearing patent no. US10785953B2. This patent has been assigned to Kalt Maschinenbau AG.

This invention is a technique for the automatic handling of cheese blocks. This technique allows for the safe, rapid, and precise removal of a cheese block from a primary mould and its placement in a secondary mould. Shaking or blowing onto a compressed cheese curd that is in a mould is required for this method, and the pick-up plunger must be retracted into the mould before proceeding. After that, the block of cheese is lifted, rotated, and reintroduced into the cheese press.

A clamping unit is used to secure the cheese block in place on the pick-up plunger. Next, the cheese block is swivelled through an angle of 180 degrees in the direction of a secondary mould. The device is small and enables automated handling and gripping of the cheese block, which enables rapid repopulation of the cassette press. Additionally, the device is compact.
