TODAY’S PATENT – INORGANIC NITRITE TO IMPROVE CARDIOPULMONARY HEMODYNAMICS

Today’s patent was invented by Ulrich H. von Andrian, Omid C. Farokhzad, Robert S. Langer, Tobias Junt, Elliott Ashley Moseman, Liangfang Zhang, Pamela Basto, Matteo Iannacone, and Frank Alexis on January 11, 2022, bearing patent no. US11219640B2.

With the use of inorganic nitrites like sodium nitrite, this invention offers techniques for treating heart failure that is either acute or chronic. The procedure entails giving an inorganic nitrite dose that is therapeutically efficacious to a subject who needs treatment. Both inhaling and nebulizing the nitrite are options for administration. The nitrite may be given in an escalation titrated dose or as an emitted dose. Both a liquid and a dry powder form of nitrite are possible.
