TODAY’S PATENT – HEALTH AND SAFETY UNIT
This was invented by Jason Walker (Portadown). It was patented by the USPTO on March 22, 2022 bearing patent number US11278752B2. This innovation relates to a health and safety unit for providing emergency equipment and information in a readily accessible location such as a room, in particular but not limited to, a kitchen or gallery.
The health and safety unit, as disclosed, consists of a vertically oriented panel with a first side and a second side opposite the first, as well as a mounting mechanism that allows the panel to be movably mounted to a housing. Multiple pockets that extend through the first and second sides can be defined by the panel.
One or more things can be supported and accommodated in each of the several pockets for storage inside the housing, wherein said items may comprise one or more of a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, or a fire blanket, nebulizer, or a defibrillator. When the panel is movably mounted to the housing by the mounting structure, it can be moved between two positions: in the first, it is enclosed within the housing along with any items that are received there; in the second, it is accessible enough to remove one or more items for use from the numerous pockets.
Given the prevalence of health and safety problems, including fires, medical emergencies, and accidents, it is advantageous to have equipment that is easily accessible to help individuals deal with these situations.
