TODAY’S PATENT- GAS SENSOR AND GAS SENSOR UNIT
Today’s patent was invented by Yoshiaki Matsubara, Takayoshi Atsumi, Kouji Matsuo, Kazuhiro Kouzaki, and Masahiro Asai on July 10, 2012, bearing patent no. US8215153B2.
The present invention provides a gas sensor and a gas sensor unit for detecting the concentration of a specific gas in a measured atmosphere like an oxygen sensor, a hydrocarbon sensor, a nitrous oxide sensor, etc. This invention provides a gas sensor comprising a detection element that extends in an axial direction that detects a concentration of a specific gas in a measured atmosphere. It is positioned in a leading end side of the detection element and a metal shell that surrounds the detection element to expose the detection portion to the measured atmosphere.
An outer tube that is fixed to the metal shell to cover a rear end side of the detection element and a seal member that is contained inside the outer tube and the seal member has a lead wire insertion hole and a through-hole that penetrates in the axial direction. So, an object of this invention is to provide a gas sensor and a gas sensor unit capable of suppressing a change in the air permeability of a filter to be maintained by a seal member or an envelopment member.
