TODAY’S PATENT – FURSA
The present invention is a variety of calla lily plants named ‘Fursa’. The present invention was invented by Randag, Cecilius Jan- Jochem (‘t Zand, NL). The invention is patented in USPTO and the patent number of this invention is PP29119 .
Fursa is a new plant that is a variety of Calla Lily plants. It has inflorescences with a yellow color and a throat spot. The height of the inflorescences can reach up to 50 above the soil. Also, the leaves are dark green in color with transparent maculations present and also have a leathery texture of it. This plant is botanically known as ‘Zantedeschia Sprengeri’. It is a product of a plant breeding program with the objective of creating a wide range of colors with large classic flower shapes.
The breeding program began in 1989. The new cultivar is a seedling that is selected from a crossing of Summer Sun. the first act of asexual reproduction of Fursa was performed by the inventor in September of 2009. The present invention has not been tested under all possible environmental conditions. The Phenotype may vary with different weather conditions. The Fursa grows 50m above the soil.
