TODAY’S PATENT – FITNESS MONITORING
This fitness monitoring device was invented by Bao Tran and was patented by the USPTO on 1st July 2014 and has been assigned to Koninklijke Philips NV. This invention relates generally to methods and systems for monitoring a person. The current invention has been granted a utility patent. It was granted a patent from the USPTO on 1st July 2014 bearing the serial no US8764651B2.
The monitoring system comprises of a body wearable appliance with a band or a watch which includes a portable device to wirelessly communicate speech data over a wireless network; one or more sensors to capture fitness or vital sign data mounted on the portable device including an accelerometer in the portable device to detect user movement or fitness; and a processor coupled to the one or more sensors in the portable device over a wireless personal area network.
