TODAY’S PATENT – FAILURE DETECTION DEVICE FOR VEHICLE SPEAKER
The said invention (US9060218B2) was invented by Akito ITOU on 17th September 2011. Currently; it stands assigned to Denso Corp.
The present disclosure describes a vehicle speaker failure detection device aimed at efficiently notifying users of the speaker’s operational status with minimal components. Traditional solutions often involve complex circuitry that complicates design and can fail to detect issues like open-circuits during normal operation.
The proposed device comprises a signal generator, amplifier, coupling capacitor, detection circuit, and determination section. The signal generator produces a sound signal, which is amplified and sent to the speaker. The detection circuit monitors the speaker’s terminal voltage, while the determination section evaluates the phase difference between the sound signal and the terminal voltage to detect any open-circuit conditions, enabling effective failure detection during normal operation.
