TODAY’S PATENT – DISPOSABLE SPONGE

Sponges are used for cleaning purposes in any field of work. In today’s patent we will discuss about the invention of Ambrose W. J. Clay, the “Disposable sponge” (US4506404A), which was patented by the USPTO on 26th March 1985.      

The present invention relates to a sponge device which is used in the surgical field. It is used for cleaning the dirty bloody instruments which are utilized for performing surgical procedures in an operating room. This device is made of elastic porous mass of acceptable fibres or rubberized materials, capable of absorbing water.

This device contains of a flexible base and an uptight elongated flexible sponge member, attached to the base as well.
