TODAY’S PATENT – DEVICE HAVING A CONDUCTIVE LIGHT ABSORBING MASK AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING SAME
The invention pertains to a micromechanical system consisting of an optical component that serves as a conductive optical mask, masking a non-active portion of a display, while simultaneously providing an electrical path for one or more display circuits. The objective of this invention is to provide a multi-purpose optical component that improves the display’s optical response by absorbing ambient or scattered light, increasing the contrast ratio, and serving as an electrical bus layer.
The patent was granted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office on July 23, 2012, with serial number KR101164875B1. The primary aim of this invention is to provide an apparatus with an electroconductive light-absorbing mask and its manufacturing method. While the system, method, and apparatus each have several embodiments, none of them alone represent all desirable features.
This technical advancement provides an effective solution to mask non-active areas of displays while improving the device’s overall performance by utilizing a conductive optical mask. The invention’s advantage lies in its unique ability to serve as an optical component and an electrical bus layer, providing improved efficiency and versatility.
