TODAY’S PATENT – CONVERTIBLE SEAT BELT

In today’s patent, we will talk about Howard N. Quakenbush’s invention, “Convertible seat belt” (US4001901A) which was patented by the USPTO on 11th January 1977.

The present invention relates to a seat-bed assembly which permits a high degree of efficiency while utilizing the space in campers or mobile vehicles. This invention is an improvement to the prior art invention of Howard wherein the links and other parts of the invention were on the outside of the device which was rectified in the present invention.

This improvised invention has its parts behind and under the back which is relatively simple and economically manufacturable while being rugged and highly reliable. It also permits a high degree of efficiency in the use of space, especially in camper-type vehicles.
