TODAY’S PATENT – CLOTHES STAND
The “Clothes Stand” was invented by Ingemar Schwalbe. The USPTO (US4088228A) granted it patent on 9th May 1978.
The invention pertains to a stand useful for hanging clothes. More particularly, a stand which is elevated from the floor leaving space beneath it for storage and purposes alike. It is fundamentally for clothes which are worn over the shoulders, like coats, shirts, etc.,
It can also be positioned into a rail mounted in a wall along with heavy clothing suspended on the hanger. Moreover, the rejected/suspended clothes can be arranged pivotal in horizontal direction by a rotary mounting of the hanger in the holder. It consists of a hanger and a stand. However, multiple hangers could be placed together in one stand and locked using one common lock. Hangers can be made pivotal in the holder which makes it convenient to look at the clothes from both sides, say, at a clothing store. The plus point of this invention is that during take-down, clothes can be removed from the hanger even without touching it.
