TODAY’S PATENT- BODY TRANSFER SYSTEM AND METHOD
Today’s Patent was invented by Christopher McNulty on July 6, 2010 bearing patent no. US7748062B2.
This present invention relates to systems and methods for supporting or transferring a body without the need for lifting or pulling by individuals or complicated lifting or pulley mechanisms or for supporting a body generally during such transfer. It includes a housing having a substantial planer top portion configured to support a body and having a substantial planer bottom portion. A bottom translation mechanism is disposed at the bottom portion and configured to translate the system across a first surface upon which a body rests.
A top translation mechanism is disposed at the top portion and configured to burrow the system between the first surface and the body as the bottom translation mechanism translates the first surface. In this invention, the top translation mechanism can include a top set of belts and at least one motor and controller that drives the top set of belts. A mat can be disposed of between the body and the first surface and the system can be configured to burrow between the first surface and the mat.
