TODAY’S PATENT- BODY FAT MEASUREMENT DEVICE
Today’s patent was invented by Hiroaki Fukuda, Jakusel Kiyosaki, and Shogo Fukushima on July 14, 2015 bearing patent no. US9078586B2.
The present invention is a body fat measurement device of a type that measures by wrapping a belt around the abdomen of a subject. This device includes a plurality of electrodes that contact a body surface of the subject which passes a current between a pair of electrodes of the plurality of electrodes. There is a first measurement unit that measures a voltage between another pair of electrodes in which current is passed between the pair of electrodes. There is a calculation unit that calculates an abdominal impedance of the subject based on the voltage measured by the first measurement unit and calculates the amount of body fat of the subject.
While a second measurement unit outputs a signal indicating a parameter other than the abdominal impedance. There is a cable in which a first core wire connects between at least one of the current application units and the pair of electrodes and a second core wire which connects the second measurement unit. The aim behind this invention is to provide a body fat measurement device that is capable of reducing the risk of decline in the measurement accuracy of abdominal impedance when calculating an amount of body fat from an abdominal impedance.
