Today’s patent was invented by Charles B Darrow on December 31, 1935, bearing patent no. US2026082A.

One of the game’s most significant land characteristics is the Real Estate sections where Houses and Hotels can be built. The name of the game is known upon the Monopoly and by this name only the game is famous in the market.

An equipment for playing a board game that consists of a board with defined spaces or areas that form a road or course extending around the board and have designations indicating real estate sites; dice Articles simulating buildings to be erected at said real estate areas; said articles are of a plurality of sizes to indicate as many different characters or buildings; and a sexies of pieces to indicate respective players and adapted to be moved by said players in accordance with the throw of the dice or equivalent indication. The game’s overall goal, which is primarily to facilitate trade.
