TODAY’S PATENT – BIODEGRADABLE BAIT STATION FOR LIQUID ANT BAIT
The Biodegradable bait station for liquid ant bait was invented by Dong-Hwan Choe, Michael K. Rust, Mark Hoddle, and Ashok Mulchandani. The patent was granted by USPTO on the 4th of August 2020 bearing patent no. US10729121B2. This patent has been assigned to the University of California.
The biodegradable bait station works with liquid bait and can be used to get rid of annoying ants in cities, farms, and the wild. The idea can be used to get rid of annoying ants. A plug made of a polymer or gel that soaks up water has been put in the open end of the container to keep the liquid bait from leaking out. This will make sure that the bait doesn’t leak out of the container. Ants that are currently looking for food will be able to eat what they find at some point. The bait stations can be small enough that they can be easily placed where plants block direct sunlight. For example, the best places to put these bait stations would be in the bushes around houses or under each citrus tree in the orchard.
