Today’s Patent – Animal feeder

The said invention (US11980163B2) was invented by Daniel E. Moran, and patented by USPTO on October 1st, 2022. Currently, it stands assigned to the individual.

Today's Patent - Animal feeder

The animal feeder has two main components: a bunk and a dump trailer. The dump trailer, which stores animal feed, is attached to the rear of the bunk but can pivot relative to it. It has two positions: a lowered transport position where the animal feeder is in the feed transport position, and a raised delivery position where the feeder is in the feed delivery position. When the dump trailer is moved from the transport position to the delivery position, it pivots, connecting its exit to the bunk’s entrance. This allows the dump trailer to gradually release its animal feed into the bunk, making it accessible to the animals.

The bunk is a larger structure that holds the animal feed delivered from the dump trailer. It has sidewalls with apertures for animal access and a floor with openings for feed removal. The bunk is connected to the dump trailer through a hinge and braces, ensuring stability and easy removal when needed. The animal feeder can accommodate various types of feed, including hay bales and discrete feed, and features a feed container that can be placed within the bunk for additional storage and organisation.
