PATENT OF THE WEEK – OPTIMIZED FLOW CONTROL FOR WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
The Optimized flow control for water infrastructure was invented by Christopher, Michael Klein, Richard Clayton Kraus, and Franz David Garsombke. which is been patented by USPTO on 15th September 2020 bearing patent no. US10772268B2. This patent has been assigned to Rachio Inc.
This invention is for Receiving data on water usage from flow controllers is one step in a method for maximizing efficiency in water use within a water infrastructure. Other steps in the method include modifying a schedule for individual properties and turning on water outlets. Another method involves determining a peaking factor for the amount of water that is used, adjusting multiple watering schedules, and executing instructions on non-transitory media. This article describes a system that consists of a server, infrastructure databases, flow controllers, and at least one water outlet connected to each flow controller. The instructions include calculating a peaking factor and modifying the watering schedules based on the results of the calculated peaking factor.
