TODAY’S PATENT – FRIEDCAKE AND STICK MEMBER COMBINATION AND PROCESS FOR MAKING SAME
This was invented by Diana G. McDaniel (Oklahoma City, OK). It was patented by the USPTO on March 13, 1979 bearing patent number US4144356A. A new fried cake food product that is attached to a stick member or something similar is the subject of the current invention, which is related to the field of food preparations.
The current invention offers a fried cake food product and method of preparation that involves making sticky dough, placing a portion of the dough on a stick member so that a second stick portion extends as a handle, and quickly frying the dough portion in deep fat for a predetermined amount of time until the outside is fried. The frying is stopped while the dough portion that comes into direct contact with the first stick portion is essentially uncooked and therefore stays tacky, allowing the dough portion to be firmly bonded to the stick member.
The end product is a fried cake that can be further processed in a variety of ways to generate a wide variety of pastry items. It is rigidly attached to a stick part for ease of handling. As a result, one goal of the current invention is to provide a food product that is fried cake and adheres to a stick or similar item. The provision of a fried cake food product coupled with an innovative handling method that may be included into a wide range of confections or sweetmeats is another goal of the current innovation.
