Today’s Patent – Robot
The said invention (US12233546B2) was invented by Noboru Kawaguchi Hidetaka Yamauchi Tomoya Hattori Koji Hiro se and patented by USPTO on July 10th, 2024. Currently, it stands assigned to the Mitsubishi Electric Corp.

The invention provides a compact robotic shoulder joint capable of human-like motion, including complex movements such as torsion. Traditional joints with limited degrees of freedom or bulky three-axis designs restrict natural motion or are too large for human-like proportions.
This robot features upper limbs connected to the chest via shoulder joints with two rotational degrees of freedom. Motion is controlled by two variable-length actuators (main and auxiliary) linked between the chest and upper arm. This structure enables precise, powerful, and natural limb movements while maintaining a compact, human-like form.
