Today’s Patent – Cove Base Support
The said invention (US12071772B1) was invented by Aaron Ryan, and patented by USPTO on October 5th, 2023. Currently, it stands assigned to the individual.
A cove base support is a component used in conjunction with cove base, a flexible trim often found in commercial buildings. This support system consists of a vertical support portion, an angled support portion, and a toe support portion. The angled support portion acts as a transition between the vertical and toe support portions, while the toe support portion extends downwards to provide support to the cove base. To secure the cove base support to the wall, the adhesive is applied through apertures in at least one of the vertical or toe support portions.
Cove base is a valuable addition to commercial spaces, offering both aesthetic appeal and protection to the base of walls. However, its flexible nature can make it susceptible to damage from impacts. The cove base support system described here aims to address this issue by providing a more robust and secure installation method.
