TODAY'S PATENT - DIFFUSIVE LIGHT ILLUMINATOR

The disclosure presents a solution for generating diffusive ultraviolet (UV) radiation for applications like backlighting in LCDs. It introduces a diffusive illuminator comprising light sources and a multi-layer light guiding structure made of fluoropolymer and a transparent fluid, featuring an emission surface for diffused light.

This design includes diffusive elements that diffuse light within 40% of Lambertian distribution to achieve uniformity at a target distance. The illuminator can be integrated into disinfection systems, addressing challenges related to UV materials and efficiency in light diffusion.
