TODAY’S PATENT – BINOCULAR CASE

This patent was assigned to  NIKON INC. (Melville, NY). Their claim is the ornamental design for the binocular case, as shown and described.

This invention is related to a binocular case that, when closed, has a movable wall or panel that holds or is attached to a tray that supports the binoculars inside the case body or housing. To open the case, one can adjust the moveable wall, which is attached to the case body by a hinge or another moveable component. This wall may be moved, which causes the binocular-supporting tray to move at least partially out of the case. This allows the instrument to be swiftly and readily gripped without having to reach inside the case.

One of the invention’s key features is that the binoculars are positioned to be held in the same way when the instrument is held for viewing when the case is opened. With this orientation, there is no need to alter your grasp once the binocular is taken out of its case, allowing you to move your eyes instantly. The binocular may be swiftly and simply replaced in the case thanks to the same feature.
