TODAY’S PATENT – RUCKSACK WITH INTEGRATED ROLLING AND TRACTION SYSTEM

This Rucksack was invented by Roger De Lathouwer (Brussels). It was patented by the USPTO on March 9, 2004 bearing patent number US6702164B1. This invention relates to baggage comprising a rigid retractable handle and is suitable for being drawn on wheels. The invention relates more particularly to a rucksack.

This idea attempts to address the previous drawbacks and enhance the features of lightweight and comfort of use. No longer is the rucksack tailored to a rolling system; rather, the rolling system is tailored to the shape and purpose of the bag.

In order to achieve this goal, the innovation primarily proposes a rucksack with flexible material walls that includes wheels and a retractable handle. A single piece of incurvated interior base plate is included, which forms the base of at least one telescopic housing for the retractable handle rod(s).

The housing is located internally in the luggage along one face. The base plate mentioned above has apertures (8, 8′) at the incurvation that accommodate wheels that protrude.

With a supporting plate made of the pliable material extending perpendicular to the telescopic system, the top extremity of the telescopic housing(s) is constructed as a single unit. The face opposite the one next to the telescopic housing is the one that is in contact with the back and has straps.
