TODAY’S PATENT – MUSCLE GLOVE

Muscle Glove invention introduces a wrist hooking system designed to aid in executing a false grip for athletes using rings, such as gymnasts. The disclosed system comprises integrated glove components, including protruding support members, outside palm traction, and a wedge/leverage piece. These elements provide a secure attachment to the ring, dispersing weight across the entire hand and preventing wrist trauma and slippage.

Unlike traditional false grips that demand substantial forearm strength, the disclosed hooking systems enable less physically strong athletes to perform Olympic ring exercises without slipping hazards. The glove’s external protrusions act as leverage and support, facilitating the false grip, wherein the wrist is positioned above the ring.

The inventor of the ‘Muscle Glove’ is Robert Bumgarner and the invention was published on 09-10-18 with the Patent no. US10092046B2. The application for the same was filed by the individual in 2015 itself and the patent was granted on 9^th October 2018. The glove’s integrated protrusions provide various advantages to the wearers, athletes can securely attach to the rings, distributing weight across the hand area and preventing wrist trauma.

The system also provides leverage, making it easier for athletes to hoist themselves into the false grip position. In addition to assisting with ring exercises, the disclosed glove system can be worn during other exercises like weightlifting, rope climbs, and pushups, offering added support and reducing hand strain.
