TODAY’S PATENT – PIGLET EAR-TAGGING STATION

The Piglet ear-tagging station was invented by Dave Klocke and is been patented by USPTO on 27^th September 2022 bearing patent no. US11452281B2.

This invention ear-tagging station is meant to be used on piglets and other small animals to put a standard ear tag in the ear quickly and easily. At least one pair of tagging pliers are mounted on a cart or table that is part of the station. The male and female parts of the ear tag are placed on the pliers’ open jaws. The cart or table also has a foot pedal that can be pressed to raise an arm, which in turn opens the jaws of the pliers so that the ear tag parts can be attached to the piglet’s ear.

The arm is down and the pliers are open. The foot pedal is set to a neutral, raised position. The operator can hold the piglet in his or her hands with the ear between the pliers’ jaws. He or she can then step down on the foot pedal to close the pliers’ jaws and put the ear tag on the piglet’s ear. When the operator lets go of the pedal, the pliers’ spring bias makes the jaws open on their own. Then, for the next piglet, a new set of male and female tag parts can be put on the jaws.
