TODAY’S PATENT – HONEYCOMB FILTER AND CERAMIC FILTER ASSEMBLY

The Honeycomb filter and ceramic filter assembly was invented by Kazushige Ohno, Shimano, and Masahiro Tsuji. which is been patented by USPTO on 23rd September 2008 bearing patent no. US7427309B2. This patent has been assigned to Ibiden Co Ltd.

The invention includes eight views of an integral ceramic filter assembly. Apply a ceramic seal layer to the outside of multiple sintered porous ceramic filters. The seal layer is 0.3 to 3 mm thick and conducts 0.1 to 10 W/mK. The second method adheres a ceramic seal layer to elongated polygonal honeycomb filters with round surfaces on chamfered corners. The third perspective is an outer ceramic smoothing layer. The fourth method adheres a ceramic seal layer to the outer surfaces of elongated honeycomb filters at 0.06 mm/mm2 to 0.75 mm/mm.

The fifth perspective uses an elongated honeycomb filter with a specific cell wall surface area of grains, an average pore diameter of 5 to 15 μm, porosity of 30 to 50%, and 20% or more through pores. The eighth perspective examines a honeycomb filter with multiple cells, purifying fluid, and 0.1 m2/g or more grain wall surface area.
