TODAY’S PATENT – HARVESTING METHOD USING UNMANNED AGRICULTURAL WORK VEHICLES

The Harvesting method using unmanned agricultural work vehicles was invented by Bart M. A. Missotten, Christopher A. Foster, Neseth Cora Kong, John H. Posselius, Frederik Tallir, Karel M. C. Viaene. which is been patented by USPTO on 17^th September 2017 bearing patent no. US10412893B2. This patent has been assigned to Blue Leaf IP Inc.

The invention relates to a method for harvesting crops from an agricultural field and working a field by towing an apparatus like a tilling apparatus. The method was developed by the inventors of the present invention. The techniques use both manned and unmanned vehicles, with the manned vehicles’ drivers controlling the movement and operation of the unmanned vehicles.

The method of harvesting requires the participation of drivers of a combine harvester and a crop-collecting vehicle, and each driver is responsible for visually inspecting the operation of the crop cart throughout the phases of harvesting and delivery. The method can also be used to work an agricultural field with a tillage apparatus that is towed through the field by unmanned vehicles, with the operator of a manned vehicle controlling the unmanned vehicles. This method has a number of applications.
