TODAY’S PATENT – SLIP CONTROLLING BELT TENSION SYSTEM

The Slip controlling belt tension system was invented by Douglas Greulich, Mathew Albinger Sean Dwyer. This invention was granted patent by USPTO on 15^th August 2017 bearing patent no. US9730383B2. This invention has been assigned to Husqvarna AB.

A belt drive system can be part of a yard maintenance tool with a working assembly that can rotate in different directions depending on how the tool’s engine works. The belt drive system may have at least one driven pulley that is operably connected to the working assembly, a drive shaft that is operably connected to the engine, a drive belt that can selectively connect the drive shaft to the at least one driven pulley, a tension adjustment assembly, and a control unit. The tension adjustment assembly can be set up to work with at least one part of the belt drive system so that its position can be changed to change how tight the drive belt is. The control unit can be set up so that it can control the tension adjustment assembly electronically.
