TODAY’S PATENT – WET MATEABLE CONNECTOR
The present invention is a connector which helps in connecting it to undwerwater. This invention was invented by Chaize, Eric (Malton, GB). This invention was filed on 1st September 2015. The patent number of this invention is USRE46344E1.
This invention is similar to a connector for making a connection underwater which is known as a ‘wet-mate’. These are the connectors that are used underwater where it is important to make a connection such as an optical connection in an environment that is aggressive to contact. For example, seawater, connecting something under the sea requires a special type of protection for the components. One more example of this is an electrical connection that is to be made in a harsh underwater environment that is a well-head in a sub-sea oil well. Well-heads are kept in great depth, the connector parts need to be balanced properly.
This is usually done by filling the chambers in the connector parts with pressurized dialectical oil and by expandable bladders. The invention is attached in an independent claim. Further, optional features may be found. This invention compromises a male component having a male pin and a female component having a female socket. A latch is provided with the male component to lock the portion of a male component. so, it has been said that a connector can be of any type it can be an electrical connector, hydraulic connector, or electric connector.
