TODAY’S PATENT – IMMOBILIZATION SYSTEM FOR MOTOR VEHICLES

The present invention relates to the Immobilization system for Motor Vehicles which was invented by Steven Christopher Howell and Nigel Clark and was granted patent on 4th March 2014 with the patent number RE44785.

The vehicle immobilization system is an electronically controlled locking mechanism that involves interconnection with an electrical supply for it to be switched between a locked state and an unlocked state. The mechanism remains in the same way in which it is turned on when disconnected from the electrical supply. The immobilization system also includes controlling means which are used to connect the locking mechanism to the electrical supply to the switch that connects other points and also to disconnect the locking mechanism from the electrical supply when the vehicle engine is running or the vehicle is in move.

The immobilization system also includes ways to prevent the turning of the engine when the locking mechanism is in its locked state. The vehicle immobilization system helps control the direction of other electronic control systems of the vehicle. The electronic locking device can be used to lock any component which will move during the driving of the vehicle, for example, the steering column, the transmission, or the gearbox of the vehicle etc…
