TODAY’S PATENT – COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR INTEGRATING CAR ELECTRONIC DEVICES

The “Computer system for integrating car electronic devices” was invented jointly by Ping-Hui Shu, Wen-Che Liu, Ya-Wen Wu and was assigned to Industrial Technology Research Institute ITRI which was granted utility patent on 28^th February 2006 by the USPTO bearing the Patent grant number. US7007118B2.

The current invention relates to an electronic device integration computer system for automobiles and, more particularly, to an electronic device integration computer system for multiple automobile electronic devices.

The computer system is housed in a housing that is designed to fit in a car dashboard and is of the standard DIN size. The housing includes a computer host that can execute at least an operating system or software application. A number of connection ports located on the computer host are used to connect the computer host to at least one external electronic device. To control the computer host, a control panel is located at the front of the housing. There is also a display attached to the computer host for displaying text or image data. There is also a touch panel attached to the display. Data can be entered via utilizing the touch screen. All of the electronic components in a car can be integrated and controlled using the connection ports.
