TODAY’S PATENT – ELECTRIC TOASTER

The ELECTRIC TOASTER was invented by John W. McClean (Lakemba) on the 25th of June 1996 bearing patent number US5528980A.

The present invention relates to an electric toaster an edible article can be inserted to be toasted through a slot in the top of the toaster to lie between the two heating elements. Which one gets energized results in the toasting of both the side of the slice at the same time. The object behind the present invention is to create a pop-up toaster. This pop-up toaster has a body in which a slot is provided for the insertion of the article which is to be toasted. Inside the toaster, a toaster carriage for articles and an electric toasting element are there. To escape the flames caused by accidental ignition a flame of the article a barrier means a wire gauge or expanded metal member is there and that prevents the flame produced by inadvertent combustion of the article from issuing from the slot by permitting the hot air to escape from the slot. Along with this, a Flame Barrier is primarily mounted on the toaster body to prevent flames from escaping, and the slot can be moved between the closed position and at least one open position pushing the article through the slot into the interior. This invention is thereby a novel and convenient one.
