PATENT OF THE WEEK – JUMPING SUIT FOR A PARACHUTIST

Rene Louis Maidon received the patent for the invention “Jumping suit for parachutist” (US4077064A) by the USPTO on 7th March 1978.

The present invention relates to jumping suits or combination of suits employed by parachutists or sports parachutist. While carrying out relative work in groups, the parachutists form different figures, such as stars or other figures, while falling freely by holding on to each other through their hands or by different parts of their suits. One of the main difficulties encountered by them is the difficulty of seizing by hand, usually with gloves on.

The primary objective of this invention is to overcome the difficulties by providing an improved jumping suit having an easily – seized region where the suit can be taken off easily without any risk of it escaping. It can also be seized by the hand of the user and fastened to the fabric so as to secure the grip of the parachutist.
