TODAY’S PATENT – BODY SHOWER

Conventional body showers consist of a shower rose mounted on the outlet of a water pipe fixed at a convenient location in the bathroom or shower booth. The water pipe has connections to hot and cold water lines where the temperature of water can be controlled by the shower rose according to the personal requirements of the user. In today’s patent, we will discuss about Allen R. Mace’s invention, “Body shower” (US414225A), which was patented by the USPTO on 6th March 1979.

The present invention relates to a body shower. When showers of ‘spray water’ type are used, the wetting or dampening of the hair on certain occasions does cause an inconvenience. Even with a flexible hose, the user has to use his hand at all times which causes a lot of trouble. In order to overcome this issue, the present invention is designed in such a way that it does not affect the wetting or dampening of the head unless so directed by the user.
